Eileen Tetreault LeDoux, an internationally exhibited and widely collected artist, was born of French parents in
Rhode Island, USA.
Exhibiting talent at an early age and encouraged by her father, a professional musician, Eileen pursued a career in
the arts. After attending the Rhode Island School of Design, she set off to discover her roots in France; painting the
scenes she had known so well through stories and postcards. Now with a taste of the colors and style of both New
England and France, Eileen was eager to expand her palette.
Over the next 30 years, her travels took her to Martinique and Tortola, where she incorporated the brilliant tropical
colors into her paintings, and Costa Rica where she gained an understanding and appreciation for the awe-inspiring
power of nature. “Looking out over the expanse of the ocean, or over the top of a mountain you realize what a small
role you play on this earth – it’s a constant inspiration to appreciate every moment you have and to take a step back
and take it all in,” says Eileen. “When I paint a landscape, I’m trying to capture that moment of beauty.”
Now, back in the United States, Tetreault-Ledoux utilizes her worldly palette as a mixed-media painter. Her use of
Japanese papers applied on watercolor and acrylic, beautifully captures the rich colors of her lively scenes, and
mimics the vibrant personality of this distinguished artist.
